Affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate’s marketing efforts.

There are various types of affiliate marketing but the main three ones are unattached, related, and involved affiliate marketing.

Unattached Affiliate Marketing

Under this marketing model, the affiliate has no link to the product or service that they are promoting. They do not have any relevant skills or expertise that are related to the product nor are they in any sort of authoritative position to make claims about the usability.

The lack of compatibility with the consumers and product exempts the affiliate from recommending that certain product or service.

Related Affiliate Marketing

This type revolves around the promotion of products/services by an affiliate who has a direct connection with the offering. This means that the affiliate has links in the relevant industry. Related affiliate marketing consists of those who are known to be credible and have a strong influence over the target audience to generate traffic. Even though they do not use the product or service themselves.

Involved Affiliate Marketing

A deeper link is developed between the affiliate and the product they are promoting. Under this, they have used the product and have witnessed a positive experience with it. Personal reviews, recommendations, and experiences are shared and these affiliates are considered to be in an authoritative position.

Conclusion

The best type of affiliate marketing is the type that suits your business and your budget. So, it’s important to do your research and find out which type will work best for you.

However, utilizing involved affiliate marketing may work best in your favor as it focuses on trust and authenticity which is highly attractive for the right audience.
